On December 14-15, 2012, the MENAHRA Board of Directors convened for its second bi-annual meeting, held at the Padova Hotel in Beirut, Lebanon. The diverse agenda allowed for decisions to be made regarding MENAHRA’s future.

MENAHRA Executive Director Mr. Elie Aaraj provided the Board with an update on the Arab League Initiative on HIV/AIDS. Partnerships and collaborations with regional organisations concerned with harm reduction were discussed thoroughly to ensure that beneficiaries receive harm reduction services in the most efficient way. A draft listing of the role of each board member was discussed and amended to assure that all the goals and objectives of MENAHRA are preserved. The MENAHRA membership criteria and benefits were finalised for legal approval. The board also set the dates for the upcoming MENAHRA Second Regional Conference on November 14 to 16, 2013, with a pre-conference on the 13th, to be held in Beirut, Lebanon.
