In observation of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, on 26 June, the Middle East and North Africa Harm Reduction Association (MENAHRA) is coordinating the Support. Don’t Punish. campaign, which was launched by the International Drug Policy Consortium (IDPC) (based in London), in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. 

In this framework, below you can find the activities that will be organized in support of this campaign by civil societies and countries in our region. We hope to gain your support and your participation on this day in order to help increase awareness.

 • Regionally, the Middle East and North Africa Network of People Who Use Drugs (MENANPUD) will be shooting a video that include testimonials and supportive messages from the region to support the campaign.

• In Egypt, FRIENDS Association will be holding several activities in the Minya Governorate; a play will be shown in a boat carrying the campaign’s slogan through the Nile River, in addition to distributing posters of the campaign.

• Also in Egypt, the “Charity Sofaraa” Association will be holding a football tournament in Cairo, in addition to distributing posters of the campaign.

• In Tunisia, the Association Tunisienne de Prévention de la Toxicomanie (ATUPRET) will organize a seminar supporting the campaign, in addition to a sport tournament, and also distribute posters with the campaign logo.

• In Lebanon, Soins Infirmiers et Developpement Communautaire (SIDC) will be doing a TV Spot that include the support of several decision makers and celebrities.

Also, activists from more than 15 countries in the MENA (IRAN, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, UAE …etc.) participated in the interactive photo project on social media
