In observation of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, on 26 June 2014, the Middle East and North Africa Harm Reduction Association (MENAHRA) is coordinating the Support. Don’t Punish. campaign, which was launched by the International Drug Policy Consortium (IDPC) (based in London), in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
In this framework, below you can find the activities that will be organized in support of this campaign by civil societies and countries in our region. We hope to gain your support and your participation on this day in order to help increase awareness.
• Regionally, the Middle East and North Africa Network of People Who Use Drugs (MENANPUD) will be organizing a graffiti event in Beirut.

• In Egypt, FRIENDS Association will be holding several activities in the Minya Governorate, boats will be carrying the campaign’s slogan through the Nile River, a human chain will be formed, in addition to distributing posters of the campaign.

• In Tunisia, the Association Tunisienne de Prévention de la Toxicomanie (ATUPRET) will organize a concert, a full week of activities, and distribute posters with the campaign logo.

• In Lebanon, awareness campaign will be launched by Soins Infirmiers et Developpement Communautaire (SIDC), they will also raise awareness among the police, in addition, they will also distribute posters with the campaign logo. On July 6, SIDC will also organize a “Rally Paper” in Mount Lebanon region.

• Also in Lebanon, the Lebanese Addictions Center, SKOUN, will organize a march in Downtown Beirut in front of the Lebanese Parliament, in addition to that a FlashMob will be playing music in Downtown Beirut, they will also distribute posters with the campaign logo.
