On 1 November, 2015, the “International Drug Users Day,” the Middle East and North Africa Harm Reduction Association (MENAHRA) urges governments and policy makers in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to reconsider legislation which criminalize people who use drugs and to consider him/her as a patient, not a criminal.

MENAHRA Participated in Civil Societies and HIV in the Humanitarian Conditions Meeting

The Middle East and North Africa Harm Reduction Association (MENAHRA) participated in the Civil Societies and HIV in the Humanitarian Conditions: Challenges and Recommendations meeting that was organized by the Regional/Arab Network against AIDS (RANAA) and UNAIDS on 30 September and 1 October 2015 in Cairo, Egypt.

The Middle East and North Africa Harm Reduction Association (MENAHRA) and the Regional Arab Network Against AIDS (RANAA) participated in the 37th meeting of the UNAIDS Program Coordinating Board from 26 to 28 October 2016 at the World Health Organization (WHO) Headquarters in Geneva.

MENAHRA 2014 Annual Report Brief

The Middle East and North Africa Harm Reduction Association (MENAHRA) was established in 2007 as a joint project for networking, capacity building, and developing model programs for HIV/Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) prevention and treatment targeted at PWID, with the collaboration of WHO and Harm Reduction International (HRI), under funding from Drosos Foundation. The association was later registered in Lebanon as an International Non-Governmental Organization in 2012 under the Presidential Decree number 7491.
