The aim was to increase the capacities of Advocacy and engagement, for civil society organizations and TB communities in the Middle East and North Africa region, to mobilize and move communities towards ending TB. Representatives from Algeria, Egypt, and Lebanon attended the training.
On the first day, the training introduced the participants to the concept of advocacy and the methods and tools to assess current situations. The participants then shared stories from their countries.
On the second and third days, the trainer focused on group works and exercises and engaged the participants in the following sessions; exercises about identifying the advocacy topic and putting strategies and mechanisms for the campaign, explaining and practicing SWOT analysis, drafting and presenting national action plans, in addition to other exercises and discussions.
This training, in addition to the added knowledge for the stakeholders, it created a space for representatives from different countries to meet and share their experiences, challenges, and success stories.
